NFL Rumors: Aaron Rodgers aware Packers actively looking to trade away star QB

Aaron Rodgers may be headed elsewhere

Aaron Rodgers' future has been up in the air since the Green Bay Packers' season ended at the hands of the Detroit Lions. Speculation abounded over whether or not he'd retire, be traded or run it back. Now, it seems as if a trade is the most likely option.

Adam Schefter has reported that the Packers would prefer to move on to Jordan Love and trade the four-time MVP, and now Dov Kleiman is reporting that Rodgers knows his team wants to move on.

According to Kleiman:

"The Packers 'prefer' to move on from QB Aaron Rodgers, league sources tell [Adam Schefter]. Aaron Rodgers is aware of the Packers feeling about wanting to trade him, according to the sources."

Jordan Love's rookie contract won't last forever, and the Packers need to find out what they have in him. Rodgers, who's been with the team for the past 17 seasons, could very well be on the way out.

Kleiman later added:

"Packers made a commitment with Rodgers to find a trade partner if he indicates a desire to be traded, per Tom Pelissero. Green Bay have 'their next plan ready to go' in case Rodgers does moves on."

Rodgers can still call it quits and hang up his cleats officially, but he hasn't talked if he wants to do that. All signs point to him wanting to return, but it may not be in Green Bay.

Now, that seems like the only option. Rodgers' time in Green Bay is more than likely up.

Where will Aaron Rodgers be traded to?

Finding a trade partner for Rodgers will be a tall task for the Packers. Despite his talent (he has taken a step back but is still a great player), the price will be high.

Four-time MVPs don't get traded all that often, and when they do, it's for a hefty package. Some teams will have to offer a lot of compensation and then pay him the roughly $60 million he's owed next season.
