NFL Trade Rumors: Mike Florio hints at significant shift in Packers' trade demands for Aaron Rodgers’ Jets move

The Aaron Rodgers trade saga lingers on as the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers remain at an impasse over a suitable trade package. The four-time NFL MVP has publicly declared his interest in joining the AFC franchise in desperate need of a QB.

The Packers too have expressed their interest in moving on from the veteran QB to pave the way for Jordan Love. The franchise reportedly sought the Jets' first-round pick for 2023 along with a second-round pick.

The Jets, though, have refused to budge. While appearing on the "Pat McAfee Show," NFL insider Mike Florio shared that he believes the Packers have made a major concession to get Rodgers off their books:

"The holdup was because the Packers were adamant on getting the 13th overall pick in this year's draft. I think they backed away from that. The GM of the Packers said we're not necessarily going to get a first-round pick, that to me was a major concession acknowledging they're no longer demanding 13th overall in 2023."

Florio instead revealed what he believes the Packers might finally end up getting for their QB as negotiations continue:

"I think they're going to get a second-round pick from the Jets this year. A second-round pick next year that can become a first-round pick, depending upon what the Jets do with Aaron Rodgers this year."

The Jets have been loading up on offense to assist their incoming star. Rodgers' numbers might have dipped last season, but there is no doubt he has what it takes to turn a franchise around into title contenders.

Like Jets fans, franchise owner Woody Johnson too has grown impatient as the Aaron Rodgers trade lingers on. While speaking to the media at the annual team owners' meetings. Johnson expressed his optimism as the franchise looks to finalize the deal:

"We’re anxious, I guess. We look forward. We’re optimistic. We have a plan. We’re willing to stick with our plan and I don’t think anybody is hyperventilating."

But it doesn't look like he'll remain calm for much longer. The Jets owner declared how his desire remains to win now:

"I’m not the patient sort, really,” Johnson said. “We’ve got to win. We’re in the win business, so we have to win now. That the same thing I said 23 years ago."

Life hasn't been easy for the Jets faithful. With the team last tasting Super Bowl success during the Broadway Joe era, Aaron Rodgers could be just the spark it needs to return to its glory days.
