"Be careful what you wish for Jets" - Skip Bayless issues major warning over Aaron Rodgers trade

According to Skip Bayless, Aaron Rodgers could spell trouble for the New York Jets

The New York Jets are inching closer to sealing a trade for Aaron Rodgers. The Green Bay Packers QB has been a star for the franchise ever since taking over from Brett Favre back in 2008.

Once proclaiming to be a Packer for life, the QB has since had second thoughts about committing his future to the franchise on several occasions over the past two years.

Now, it seems that the New York Jets are finally the franchise that'll be able to prize away Aaron Rodgers from Green Bay. While Jets fans have every reason to celebrate, NFL analyst Skip Bayless tweeted about how one particular aspect of Rodgers could return to haunt them.

Bayless here seems to be referring to the comments made by Packers GM Brian Gutekunst during the annual NFL team owners' meeting. The GM was questioned about the QB's recent comments on the Pat McAfee Show.

Rodgers claimed there had been a shift in dynamics between him and the front office after emerging from his darkness retreat. Gutekunst, however, didn't seem to agree with all his QB had to say:

"As we got out of the offseason or after the season, we had a good conversation and were going to have some follow-up conversations... Our inability to reach him or for him to respond in any way, I think at that point I had to do my job and kind of reach out, understanding that a trade could be possible, see who was interested."

With two different accounts of how things played out, Bayless feels it's Rodgers once again who is to blame. The QB, after all, has had a tumultuous time with the media over the past few seasons due to his COVID vaccine controversy.

How an "immunized" Aaron Rodgers was caught dodging the COVID vaccine

To freshen up your memory, Rodgers lied about his vaccination status during the coronavirus pandemic. The QB faced massive criticism after he tested positive for COVID-19, months after claiming that he was "immunized."

There is some truth to this statement by the QB. After testing positive, it was revealed that he had undergone his own protocols and treatments to stimulate his immune system against the deadly virus.

Back then, the league had different sets of rules for vaccinated and unvaccinated players and staff. Unvaccinated players had to undergo daily tests and had to adhere to multiple strict rules.

Rodgers evaded this thanks to his clever wordplay, which in its own way was misleading. The QB is not afraid to stir up a controversy. It's something that Bayless believes Jets fans might have to get used to soon.
