Family feud? Immunization? Ranking top 5 scandals in Aaron Rodgers’ Packers career

Green Bay Packers v Arizona Cardinals
Which Aaron Rodgers scandal tops the rest?

Aaron Rodgers' Green Bay Packers career is coming to an end. At some point, he will more than likely be traded to the New York Jets. It's been a long and iconic career in the green and yellow, but it's coming to an end now.

Ultimately, the era was not all good. It will undoubtedly be marked by the fact that they won one Super Bowl the entire time. Additionally, off the field, Rodgers was followed by more than one controversy. Which ones were worse than the others?

Ranking Aaron Rodgers' various controversies

5) Adam Schefter

Adam Schefter is a renowned sports reporter. Being such means he has to be persistent in seeking out breaking news. Oftentimes, that means texting players directly and asking them about what's going on.

When it comes to Aaron Rodgers, he's not a fan of any reporter. He has repeatedly said he'll speak for himself and often snubs reporters outright, but it went to another level recently.

With all the discussion surrounding whether Rodgers was seeking a trade, retiring or running it back in Green Bay, Schefter reached out to the quarterback. Rodgers not only disregarded him then and there, but went on live television to laugh about it.

Rodgers responded by telling Schefter to lose his number. The reporter was just trying to do his job and Rodgers tried to embarrass him. For what it's worth, Schefter took it well and even posted the screenshot to laughingly confirm the statement.

4) Ayahuasca

NFL quarterbacks can do what they want, but Aaron Rodgers' admitted use of a psychedelic drug is generally not something that's advisable. It's also pretty controversial that he was so open about a drug that's not really legal right now.

He's certainly allowed to do whatever he wants in his own time and in private, but that's not really something that needs to be shared with the world and it's probably not an activity he needed to disclose to NFL teams, either.

3) Hub Arkush

In the wake of the immunization scandal, the MVP hopeful learned that a voter wasn't going to cast his vote for Rodgers. Hub Arkush's reasoning? If Rodgers couldn't be depended upon to tell the truth or get vaccinated, he couldn't be that valuable.

Rodgers blasted the voter in the media, calling him a bum among other things. While some criticism of Arkush's thought process might be valid, taking him to task publicly is not something that sat well with a lot of people.

2) Family fued

For a very long time, Aaron Rodgers has had almost no contact with his family. He's infamous for being on the outs within the Rodgers family, most notably snubbing an invitation to his own brother's wedding.

The fued has no clear starting point, but it's been going on for well over a decade now. Jordan Rodgers, the brother, said after the snub via the Spun:

"My middle brother won’t be there, Aaron. Like I said, I have a great relationship with my brother Luke. Me and Aaron don’t really have that much of a relationship. It’s just kind of the way he’s chosen to do life and I’ve chosen to stay close with my family and my parents and my brother."

That's not something a brother should have to answer about, but Aaron Rodgers refuses to be involved with his family.

1) Immunization

While other scandals are either making a mountain out of a mole hill or personal things that don't affect much, the immunization scandal is different. During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NFL developed a way for play to continue and set protocols for vaccinated and unvaccinated players.

Aaron Rodgers operated under the vaccinated protocols and was even asked by the media if he was vaccinated. Rodgers responded:

"Yeah, I've been immunized."

The question was specifically about COVID shots and his stance on them. He vehemently disagrees with them, but lied here to cover his tracks. He later got mad at the media for creating a witch hunt over his vaccination status.

However, the issue lies with his inability to be honest about his status and the fact that he didn't follow the right protocols. There were and still are plenty of unvaccinated NFL players who stuck to their guns. Rodgers didn't do that and took the coward's way out before blaming others for his misfortune.
