Shaquille O’Neal reveals sky-high expectations for Dak Prescott’s Cowboys

Dak Prescott might have lost Trevon Diggs for the season, but he at least has one big star in his corner. Shaquille O'Neal was called into First Take during a segment asking the public to comment on Stephen A. Smith's lackluster first pitch ahead of a Yankee baseball game.

Over the course of the conversation, the Dallas Cowboys came up. Here's how high O'Neal set the bar while giving a bonus take on breakout Colorado coach Deion Sanders:

"Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl and Deion Sanders is going to win his next two games in a row. You heard it here first."

Dak Prescott hasn't had much to do in the early part of the 2023 season. The Cowboys defense, led by Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs, have been able to strangle the New York Giants and the New York Jets.

Through two games, the quarterback has thrown for two touchdowns and zero interceptions. Against the Jets, en route to a 30-10 win, he completed 81.6% of his passes for 255 yards.

While against the New York Giants, the score was higher and his statistics were much less impressive. He won 40-0 and threw for no touchdowns, no interceptions, just 143 yards, and completed just 54.2% of his passes.

With Trevon Diggs now out of the lineup, it will fall on Dak Prescott much more to prove that he can put up a stat line like he did against the New York Jets and in many cases, better.

That said, Prescott might not need to prove much against the team's next opponent. This weekend, he will face the Arizona Cardinals. The team is 0-2 and still relying on Joshua Dobbs to hold the fort until Kyler Murray can return from injury in Week 5.

Cardinals fans might strongly disagree as an argument could be crafted based on what they've done so far. Despite being 0-2, they've beaten expectations for many as they've had a massive chance to win both of their contests.

In Week 1, they fell short to the Washington Commanders by a score of 20-16. Then, in Week 2, they went up 20-0 against the New York Giants before the defense folded, allowing Daniel Jones to carve out a 31-28 win.

Will Prescott need to play his best game of the season to defeat a 0-2 team?
