“What a scummy thing to do”, “This is why he’s divorced” – Tom Brady invites ire of NFL fans after failing to check on Bucs teammate

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers endured a shock loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6.

While the talking point was Brady heading to Patriots owner Robert Kraft's wedding and failing to impress this week, it appears another issue has cropped up for the Buccaneers.

During the game, one Buccaneer suffered a major injury, with most players and team personnel gathering around to check on their teammate.

One notable name was missing from that group, though - Tom Brady.

Brayd decided to use that downtime to get some throws in, keeping warm and hitting his targets less than a hundred feet away from his fallen teammate.

It's never good when a player goes down with an injury, let alone one that's serious enough for the majority of the team and referees to gather to check on them.

However, it's perhaps even worse when one player, who has routinely put other things ahead of the team this season, doesn't appear to be bothered enough to check on his teammate. At least that was the consensus NFL Twitter came to after the incident.

Here's what social media had to say about Brady's lack of involvement in the incident:

The Buccaneers ended up losing due largely to a failed two-point conversion on their lone touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

What's going on with Tom Brady?

This kind of behavior isn't exactly shocking with the star quarterback.

While it is certainly a bad look to ignore a fallen teammate to throw a few balls around, it's not something that's altogether surprising.

He's been extremely dedicated to football for two entire decades. He's so dedicated that his decision to keep playing may have played a part in the deterioration of his marriage.

NFL fans have argued that the fact he ignored his own family to continue playing football after already being the NFL's most accomplished player of all time should have come as little surprise.

He was also seen on the sideline during the game, berating his offensive line, another in a long line of those instances. He's infamous for slamming his teammates over the years, especially if they fall short of his standards.

Clearly, football and performing well or winning is all that matters to Brady.

Family life, injured teammates and even public image come second to that.

Perhaps that's what it takes to become one of the best football players of all time and someone who's won so much that no one will ever catch them.

For now, though, the Buccaneers will have to possibly deal with yet another injury and hope their superstar quarterback's level of play can plug that hole in the meantime.
