"Turned my whole life upside down" - Tom Brady's ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan once opened up about her 'traumatic' split with legendary QB

In 2004, Tom Brady won his second Lombardi Trophy as the quarterback for the Patriots. Not only was he becoming a success on the football field, but soon would succeed off it also.

The young quarterback met actress Bridget Moynahan that same year. The pair were seen together at his Super Bowl 38 victory party. By July, they were officially a couple.

However, the couple split amicably in December 2006 after almost three years together. Moynahan was pregnant with Brady's child during the breakup. In a June 2008 interview with Harper's Bazaar, the actress shared some details about the split from the quarterback.

Moynahan said:

"Going through that traumatic time of being heartbroken and then being pregnant turned my whole life upside down and inside out and just knocked the wind out of me. But I got so much out of that… Now I have a child, and it's the best thing in the world."

On August 22, 2007, Moynahan would have her and Tom Brady's son, John 'Jack' Edward Thomas. At the time, the former New England Patriots star was in the beginning phases of his relationship with supermodel Gisele Bündchen.

He and the supermodel would get married in 2009 and have two kids together: son Benjamin Rein and daughter Vivian Lake. However, their marriage broke down last year and Brady is now single again.

Bridget Moynahan on co-parenting with Tom Brady

In a 2019 interview with People Magazine, the 'Blue Bloods' actress spoke on co-parenting with the multi-time Super Bowl MVP. Moynahan said:

"From the very beginning, the whole goal specifically was to always keep it positive. To raise a son in the healthiest environment, and I know we've all done that, and it shows."

While still one of the top couples in Hollywood, Brady told 60 Minutes in 2005 that Moynahan was one of his "best friends."

"I can be myself around her, and there are not many people I can be myself around. It's fun to be around your best friends who know you well, and she's someone I consider one of my very best friends."

The relationship between Tom Brady and Bridget Moynahan is all about their son as the two truly remained friends later on.
