Tyrone Tracy Jr. has taken a bigger role for the New York Giants in recent weeks, outsnapping Devin Singletary since the Philadelphia Eagles game and now also acting as the feature back against the Pittsburgh Steelers. In a team looking for offensive answers, the fifth-round pick has delivered two games with over 100 rushing yards.

Although Singletary's numbers have not been bad, with 3.9 rushing yards and 239 rushing yards in five games, the rookie seems to have done enough to get the full-time starter job. He had a great game against the Steelers, with more carries and yards than Singletary, while also scoring the only offensive touchdown for the team.

As such, it seems that this could be the year when Tracy officially locks the RB1 spot. He has done so in the past few weeks, and after breaking up big plays against the Pittsburgh Steelers, while also adding two receptions in the passing game, he was a silver lining for an offense who scored a single touchdown throughout the game.

With New York losing by two possessions, Brian Daboll called a run through the B-Gap and the running back exploded through after making a first cut to the left. Although safety Minkah Fitzpatrick came close to him, he was able to get to the end zone and make it a one-possession game.

145 rushing yards not only have been his highest in the season, but it was the highest from any Giants running back since Saquon Barkley had 152 against the Houston Texans in Week 9 of the 2022 NFL season. The rookie's ascension could make the Giants forget about Barkley.
