Cam Rising will be one of the many solid quarterback prospects during the 2023 NFL Draft. This year's quarterback class is considered by many professional scouts to be one of the deepest in the position that has ever been evaluated. Many quarterbacks currently profile as NFL-level talents, and Rising is one of the many names on the long list.
Rising helped the Utah Utes reach the coveted Rose Bowl game following the 2022 college football season. They did so by winning the Pac 12 Conference Championship Game against the USC Trojans. He will use the opportunity to show off his talents in a big game one last time in an effort to impress NFL scouts. He is likely looking to help with his draft stock, as he currently projects as a late-round flier or possibly an undrafted free agent.
A strong Rose Bowl, 2023 NFL Combine, and other scouting events during the 2023 offseason will provide several opportunities for Cam Rising to move up on draft boards. Cam Rising's college football career
Cam Rising first joined the Texas Longhorns in 2018 to begin his college football career. He spent just one year there and never played in a game before transferring to the Utah Utes in 2019. He was named the starting quarterback for the 2021 college football season after spending two years developing in their system. He found plenty of success in his new role.
In two years as a starter, Rising completed 65 percent of his passes for 5,432 yards and 45 touchdowns against just 12 interceptions. He also added 897 rushing yards and an additional 12 touchdowns on the ground.
He helped the Utah Utes reach two Pac 12 Conference Championship games against the UCLA Bruins and USC Trojans. This resulted in two consecutive Rose Bowl appearances against the Ohio State Buckeyes and Penn State Nittany Lions.
