Von Miller - Buffalo Bills v Miami Dolphins

Von Miller was signed by the Buffalo Bills to push them over the line and potentially win the Super Bowl this season. Miller is a two-time Super Bowl champ and arguably the most impactful defender in both of those games. That is why the Bills did not hesitate to lock him into a long-term contract this offseason. They saw the vision and knew the perennial Pro Bowler was a good fit for their system.

Unfortunately, Miller suffered an ACL tear in Week 12 of the 2022 NFL season against the Detroit Lions. Following the game, it was suggested that Miller did not tear his ACL. Unfortunately, further scans showed that Miller would need surgery as his ACL was indeed torn.

Due to the injury, Miller underwent surgery on Tuesday and has officially been ruled out for the rest of the season.

A fit Von Miller is a nightmare for quarterbacks and offensive coordinators and has been throughout his career. He's been great for Buffalo and it must break their hearts to lose him for the rest of the season. The Bills promptly put Miller on injured reserve and he will not be returning until the 2023 campaign.

Miller's injury could damage his side's Super Bowl aspirations as he will be greatly missed on the field.

How was Von Miller performing this season?

Von Miller had a decent regular season by his high standards. Miller is better known for his postseason heroics than his regular-season form. Miller has recorded 21 tackles (18 solo and three assists), eight sacks, and one forced fumble in 12 games.

Miller will be forced to watch from the sidelines as the Bills try to compete for the Super Bowl. While he will be missed on the field, his experience and leadership will be invaluable off it. Expect to see a lot of Miller, motivating people on the sidelines and helping guide the younger players through the rest of the season and the playoffs.
