Drew Brees' height has always been a topic of conversation. For most, NFL quarterbacks need to be a certain height. We look at the likes of Aaron Rodgers, Justin Herbert, Tom Brady etc, all of whom are well over six foot tall.

It was long thought that "short" quarterbacks would find it hard to get drafted into the NFL, let alone have a good career. But in Drew Brees' case, he broke the mold.

Dree Brees' height did not set him back at all. He didn't shy away from it, and as a result, he flourished. He managed to 1) get drafted, and 2) he became one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play. No height, no worries.

The now 43-year-old would go on to play a remarkable 20 years in the NFL. Not bad for someone deemed too short.

Not only that, but Drew Brees' height also didn't seem to affect him on the football field either. He won a Super Bowl, was the Super Bowl MVP, a 13-time Pro Bowler, led the NFL in passing touchdowns for a season, was the NFL's passing yards leader seven times and led the NFL six times for completion percentage.

Too short, you say? It didn't matter.

There is some conjecture as to what Dree Brees' height actually is. There are reports that the quarterback listed himself as 6'2, but when his coach measured, Brees was 6 foot and a few inches per speeli.com.

He is listed on many statistical websites as being 1.83m (6ft), so unless you ask the man himself now, it is up for debate. Not that his height mattered that much when he was playing.

He finished his stellar 20-year career in 2020, and his stats make for incredible reading considering he was told he was 'too short.' Brees finished with 172 wins from his 287 games, 80,358 passing yards, 571 touchdowns and 243 interceptions.

At the time of his retirement, Brees held just about every quarterback record there was to hold. Of course, Tom Brady, being the ageless wonder he is, quickly surpassed him.

Nevertheless, Drew Brees' height conundrum should serve as a timely reminder to young players coming through. Despite your height, you can still make it in the NFL and have a very productive career.

If you are still unsure, just look at Drew Brees' height and NFL career. It doesn't matter.
