Tom Brady suffered one of the most humiliating defeats of his illustrious career on Sunday, a 35-7 loss against the Brock Purdy-led San Francisco 49ers. However, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback still showed his class after the final whistle.

Despite being outplayed by San Francisco's third-choice quarterback, the 45-year-old Brady had words of encouragement for his younger counterpart. He shared a moment with Purdy after the game and said:

"Good playing, my man. You played great. Keep it up. Keep going."

Brady's praise for Purdy can only be considered the cherry on top of what was an incredible weekend for the Niners quarterback. The 22-year-old outshone a seven-time Super Bowl winner and also made NFL history in the process.

Purdy became the first rookie in the Super Bowl era with at least two touchdown passes, one rushing touchdown, and a passer rating of 125 or higher in his first career start. He also became the first quarterback ever to defeat Brady in his first career start.

The most astonishing fact about Purdy is that he was the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and carries the 'Mr. Irrelevant' tag. It's safe to say that he has exceeded expectations in San Francisco after Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo suffered season-ending injuries.

Tom Brady has thrown for 3,585 passing yards and 17 touchdowns with a passer rating of 88.91 across 13 games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season. The quarterback, however, didn't have the best of nights against the San Francisco 49ers as he threw for 253 yards and one touchdown, with two interceptions.

Nonetheless, the Buccaneers are still leading the NFC South division with six wins and seven defeats. Todd Bowles' team will look to get back to winning ways in Week 15 when they host the Cincinnati Bengals, who are 9-4 on the season.
