During the Sunday Night Football Christmas special, the Bears and the Packers met for the 184th time, including two postseason encounters. Chicago were competing for the NFC's final Wild Card position, while Green Bay, the NFC North Division champions, were fighting for the conference's top seed.

Kahlil Bell, the Bears' third-string running back, carried 121 yards to help Chicago's depleted offense keep the game close at 14-10 early in the third quarter. However, Aaron Rodgers, who passed for 283 yards and five touchdowns, led the Packers to score on their next three drives, putting the game out of reach.
