The majority of the weekend's games were rescheduled to Christmas Eve per league regulations, with one game reserved for NBC Sunday Night Football. The game was played between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, the second time these two teams met on Christmas.

During the Sunday Night Football Christmas special, the Bears and the Packers met for the 184th time, including two postseason encounters. Chicago were competing for the NFC's final Wild Card position, while Green Bay, the NFC North Division champions, were fighting for the conference's top seed.
