Projecting best fit for Tennessee QB Joe Milton

As the NFL Draft 2024 enters its final day of rounds, there are still a couple of interesting prospects available in the lot.

Six quarterbacks were chosen in the first round of the draft; however, none were chosen in the second or third rounds. This indicates that a number of seasoned quarterbacks are still available heading into Day 3, with Tennessee's Joe Milton III being one of those signal-callers.

Joe Milton's NFL Draft projection

Milton is among the contenders who might hear their names called in the sixth or seventh round, given his skill sets.

He is still viewed as a bit of a project despite spending six years playing collegiate ball because of his tremendous arm talent and strong mobility, which might use some refinement.

Joe Milton attended Michigan for three productive years before moving to Tennessee, where he stayed for an additional three years. Milton's production in college might lead one to believe he is a quarterback who might start in the NFL. His physical attributes, though, might not meet the league's requirements.

He might be worth a shot as a sixth- or seventh-round selection, and he might prove useful as a backup quarterback who helps his team when his athleticism is needed.

The Las Vegas Raiders are one team that could choose Joe Milton in a later round of the draft. The team passed on the chance to select their franchise quarterback in the first round of the draft. Instead, Las Vegas opted for superstar tight end Brock Bowers.

Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew are anticipated to contend for the starting quarterback position for the Raiders in 2024; however, Milton, should the team select him in the draft, might also be considered.

Another team that might bring in Milton is the New Orleans Saints, whose starting quarterback, Derek Carr, doesn't have any notable competition.

Carr will still be the team's starting quarterback in 2024, but Milton may see time as a backup and get experience in the NFL as a rookie.
