Where will Ray Davis get drafted? Exploring Kentucky RB's draft stock

Kentucky Wildcats running back Ray Davis may hear his name called during Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft. Rounds four through seven are set to take place on Saturday in Detroit.

Heading into the 2024 NFL Draft, Davis was projected to be a Day 3 pick and could be selected in the fourth or fifth round. ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. had Davis as his 133rd-ranked player in the draft and his eighth-best running back.

At the start of Round 4, the Carolina Panthers are on the clock with the 101st pick, so it's expected Davis will be a late fourth or early fifth-round pick.

Last season at Kentucky, Davis had 199 carries for 1,129 yards and 14 touchdowns in his lone season with the Wildcats. Davis played five years in college, two at Temple, two at Vanderbilt, and his lone season at Kentucky.

Which teams will be interested in drafting Ray Davis?

The following teams may be interested in acquiring his services:

Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals have the 104th, and 138th picks to begin Day 2, and that 138th pick could be the range of Davis.

Arizona has James Conner as their starting running back, but Davis can come in and battle Trey Benson for the backup job, while adding some competition to the room.

Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills are expected to draft a running back at some point on Day 3 of the NFL Draft and Ray Davis could be a fit.

Buffalo has James Cook and Ty Johnson under contract, but the Bills need to select a third-string running back.

The Bills also have plenty of picks on Day 3, as Buffalo has pick 128 in the fourth round, and four picks in Round 5, which is plenty of ammo to take a running back and possibly Davis.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a solid one-two punch at running back with Rachaad White and Chase Edmonds, but that shouldn't rule them out from drafting another running back to work behind them and develop.

New York Giants

The New York Giants lost Saquon Barkley in free agency but did sign Devin Singletary in free agency. However, the Giants need to add to their running back room and Davis could come in and compete for the starting job with Singletary.
