Who Will the New York Giants Third Receiver be this Season?

Denver Broncos v Indianapolis Colts
Cody Latimer has some NFL experience as a No. 3 receiver with the Denver Broncos

The New York Giants will have some different faces at certain positions to start the 2018 season and the third receiver will be one of them.

Other than having wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard at wide receiver and Evan Engram at tight end, they don't have much depth after that.

The other wide receivers on the current roster are Cody Latimer, Roger Lewis Jr., Hunter Sharp, Alonzo Russell, Travis Rudolph, Kalif Raymond, Keeon Johnson, Amba Etta-Tawo, Marquis Bundy and Jawill Davis.

Realistically, all of them have a chance to be the third receiver, but the main contenders will be Cody Latimer, Roger Lewis Jr., Hunter Sharp, and Travis Rudolph.

Latimer has some NFL experience as a No. 3 receiver with the Denver Broncos. In 2017, he caught 19 passes for 287 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Latimer could post up better numbers with Eli Manning as his quarterback.

Lewis Jr. has been with the New York Giants for the first couple of seasons in his career. He has been more of a fourth receiver than a third receiver, but because of some injuries last season Lewis was sometimes the No. 2 or even No.1.

That's too big of a role for him, but being the third wideout isn't a bad option for him. Lewis Jr. caught 36 passes for 416 yards and two touchdowns last season with the Giants.

Sharp could possibly throw a wrench into the Giants receiving plans if he has a breakout training camp.

Even though he only played in one regular season game last season for New York, Sharp caught five passes for 54 yards receiving and a touchdown against the Washington Redskins. He showed some signs of potential in that game.

Rudolph only caught eight passes for 101 yards receiving last season. He has the potential to break out during training camp.

The Giants third receiver come week one of the regular season will be Lewis Jr. because he knows what it is like in the locker room and he has been with the team for a couple of seasons.
