The Cleveland Browns were handed a major blow ahead of their Week 3 showdown with the New York Giants. Head coach Kevin Stefanski officially ruled tight end David Njoku out for the game as a result of the ankle injury he suffered in a Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
This means Njoku will miss his second straight game but the Browns appear hopeful that he will be back in time for Week 4's matchup with Las Vegas Raiders.

With David Njoku injured, who could take his place?
The Browns will have to turn to backup tight Jordan Akins when they take on the Giants this weekend. The Browns tried to get Akins a little involved last week and he caught his only target for a 10-yard gain against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
If you're looking at this from a fantasy football perspective, though, you could probably do a lot better than Akins.
Expect the Browns to get D'Onta Foreman a little more involved this week for a change of pace. Jerome Ford is expected to continue leading the backfield with Nick Chubb still out injured.
Cleveland Browns injury report for Week 3
Kevin Stefanski has more than a few headaches to deal with before they face the Giants but one major piece of good news is that Myles Garrett is good to go for Week 3. Garrett missed two practices this week inciting some concern among Browns faithful but the league's reigning DPOY will be on the field to face the Giants.
Elsewhere, tackles Jack Conklin and Jedrick Willis are still listed as questionable owing to knee injuries while running back Pierre Strong will miss Week 3 due to a hamstring injury.
Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy also popped up on the injury report but he was a full participant on Wednesday and Thursday.
