New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers was the second WR drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, and he's quickly emerging as a notable talent.
In four games played, Nabers has 35 receptions for 386 yards and three touchdowns. Before the start of Week 5, Nabers was the NFL leader in receptions and second in receiving yards.
While the Giants face the Seattle Seahawks on the road this week, they will be without their emerging rookie as he was ruled out of the game on Friday morning.
Malik Nabers injury update: What happened to the Giants rookie WR?
In the fourth quarter of last Thursday night's game against the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers went down with a concussion. It happened late in the game while he was attempting to make a catch.
As a result, Nabers left the game and went into the blue medical tent. He did not return back to the contest.
Shortly after the injury, Nabers posted on social media that he was doing fine. Following the game, the Giants placed Nabers in concussion protocol and as a result, he missed Wednesday's practice.
Giants coach Brian Daboll announced before Friday's practice that Nabers is still in concussion protocol, and will be out of Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Nabers will not travel with the team to Seattle.
The New York Giants face the Seattle Seahawks this weekend
The New York Giants face the Seattle Seahawks this weekend on the road in Week 5. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET and the game will be played at Lumen Field.
The Seahawks are currently big seven-point home favorites with the total over/under line for points being set a 42.5.
The Giants, who hold a 1-3 record, will look to get back in the win column. Last week, they fell short to their divisional rivals, the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.
The Seahawks suffered their first loss of the season last Monday night as they fell to the Detroit Lions 42-29. Prior to that, they earned three straight victories over the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins to open the season.
