NFL 2020: Power Rankings Week 4

#24 Houston Texans

Baltimore Ravens v Houston Texans
Baltimore Ravens v Houston Texans

After failing to sign All-Pro safety Earl Thomas because of a supposed "poor fit", the Texans are in trouble and most of the blame needs to be shouldered by head coach/general manager Bill O'Brien.

With QB Deshaun Watson having little to no help around him and the defense (aside from J.J. Watt) being very average, will the Texans be able to turn things around or could they miss the playoffs this season?

#23 Jacksonville Jaguars

Miami Dolphins v Jacksonville Jaguars
Miami Dolphins v Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars seemed like a fun offense to watch when they beat the Colts in Week 1. However, they were run over by the Miami Dolphins in week 3. A close game against the Titans still showed hope for the offense, but losing 31-13 to the Dolphins led by Ryan Fitzpatrick was not at all a good result. Hopefully the team can turn things around against the Bengals.

#22 Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions v Arizona Cardinals
Detroit Lions v Arizona Cardinals

The Lions shocked the league with a win over the red hot Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. If the Lions had completed their comeback against the Bears in Week 1, they would be 2-1 right now and would be second in the NFC North division.

Matthew Stafford is looking good after missing half of the 2019 season and hopes to continue performing this way. Head coach Matt Patricia is still certainly on the hot seat for this season, but we will see how well they can do in the coming weeks.

#21 Miami Dolphins

After picking up their first win against the Lions, the Dolphins will be playing the 3-0 Seattle Seahawks, who have been lucky to win a few of their games. After throwing 3 picks in the first game against the New England Patriots, QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has bounced back and has been playing well. The question still stands though - When will he be replaced by rookie Tua Tagovailoa?

#20 Los Angeles Chargers

Carolina Panthers v Los Angeles Chargers
Carolina Panthers v Los Angeles Chargers

Rookie Justin Herbert is looking great so far and his future looks bright, throwing for 330 yards with 1 touchdown and a pick in a loss against the Carolina Panthers. Chargers have one of the best defenses in the league and they do not look like slowing down anytime soon.

However, they did place cornerback Chris Harris Jr. on IR due to a foot injury. Herbert has the necessary weapons to support his growth with the team, but the question is will head coach Anthony Lynn replace Herbert with Tyrod Taylor as the starter once he has recovered?

#19 Carolina Panthers

New head coach Matt Rhuler finally got his first win in the NFL against one of the toughest defenses (Chargers) in the league. After losing to the Buccaneers and the Raiders, a win was certainly needed for the team.

They have lost All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey for atleast a few games, which will severely hurt the offense for some time. Teddy Bridgewater is playing just fine, but it is still questionable whether he is the best suited QB for the next few years. The defense continues to improve week by week.

#18 Indianapolis Colts

New York Jets v Indianapolis Colts
New York Jets v Indianapolis Colts

Philip Rivers and company rolled through the New York Jets like they were a little league football team. While the team has been dealing with a few injuries, nothing seems to be slowing them down right now.

Rivers and the offense looks good, and the young but capable defense is doing good as well. This team could be a darkhorse this season and teams should watch out for the Colts.

#17 Cleveland Browns

Washington Football Team v Cleveland Browns
Washington Football Team v Cleveland Browns

The Browns are, well, the Browns. They arecurrently 2-1 thanks to beating the Cincinnati Bengals (0-2-1) and the Washington Football Team (1-2). They were run over by the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, but the real test for Baker Mayfield and company comes this week against the Dallas Cowboys, who are coming off two high-scoring games and an unfortunate loss to the Seahawks in Week 3.
