Yudhvir Singh: A Brief Biography
Yudhvir Singh Charak, popularly known as Yudhvir Singh is an Indian Cricketer born on 13th September 1997 in the city of Jammu. He is a right-handed batsman known for scoring quick runs and also picking up wickets with his right-arm medium pace.
Career
Domestic Career
Although Yudhvir Singh was born in Jammu, he plays domestic cricket for Hyderabad. He made his T20 debut versus Chandigarh on November 12, 2019, at Chandigarh. Yudhvir did not get an opportunity to bat in that match, but he picked up two wickets for his team. Yudhvir dismissed opposition captain Manan Vohra to open his wicket tally in domestic T20 cricket, while he also picked up the wicket of Gaurav Gambhir.
Unfortunately, Yudhvir went wicketless in his next two T20 games against Maharashtra and Arunachal. The 23-year-old could only take a single wicket for Hyderabad in the 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Talking about his performances with the willow, Yudhvir Singh has scored 24 runs at a strike rate of 171.42. In his brief career, the rising star has smashed two fours and two sixes.
Yudhvir made his first-class debut on December 17, 2019, against the Punjab cricket team. He scored five runs and one wicket for Hyderabad in that fixture. So far, he has played only two first-class matches, aggregating 36 runs and picking up two wickets.
It is interesting to note that although he has decent numbers in T20 cricket and first-class matches, Yudhvir Singh has never got a chance to play List-A cricket for Hyderabad.
Given that he has the potential to become a big name in the future, Yudhvir could make his List-A debut soon.
IPL Career
Yudhvir Singh has never played an IPL match. The Jammu-born player earned his maiden contract from the two-time defending champions Mumbai Indians at IPL Auction 2021. The Mumbai-based franchise signed him at his base price of INR 20 lakh. Yudhvir could prove to be a value-for-money player if the Mumbai Indians use him correctly in IPL 2021.
Background
Hailing from Jammu, youngster Yudhvir Singh made a huge decision of representing Hyderabad over his home state at the domestic level. Yudhvir had been to the United Arab Emirates with the Mumbai Indians team as a net bowler for IPL 2020. It seems the Mumbai team management was impressed with his hard work, which is why they offered him his first IPL contract. After receiving a place in the MI squad, Yudhvir credited his parents, coaches, and senior players Ambati Rayudu and Mohammed Siraj for his success.
