Pokemon Horizons: The Series

Pokemon Horizons: The Series, also known as Pocket Monsters: Liko and Roy's Departure in Japan, marks the 26th and current season of the Pokemon animated series. Directed by Saori Den and featuring a talented creative team, this season takes viewers on an exciting journey with Liko and Roy, two young trainers, as they explore new regions and encounter fascinating Pokemon. With a total of 11 episodes, Pokemon Horizons: The Series premiered on TV Tokyo in Japan on April 14, 2023.

A Fresh Adventure

The series is based on the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games and introduces Liko, a shy girl from the Paldea region, and Roy, a boy from the Kanto region. Liko, accompanied by her starter Pokemon Sprigatito and wearing a mysterious pendant, embarks on a quest to uncover the secrets of her pendant. Roy, in possession of a mysterious Poké Ball, joins Liko on her journey. Together, they encounter Friede, a Pokemon professor partnered with Captain Pikachu, and face numerous challenges and thrilling adventures along the way.

"The Pendant of Beginning, Part 1"

In this episode, Liko arrives in Kanto to begin her studies at the Indigo Academy. She chooses Nyahoja as her first Pokemon, but the two struggle to connect. Liko's life takes a turn when she encounters Amethio, a member of the Explorers group, who gives her a letter supposedly from her grandmother. Suspicious of the situation, Liko decides to run away, leading to a series of unexpected events.

"The Pendant of Beginning, Part 2"

After Liko is encased in a green sphere and sees a strange Pokemon, Friede comes to her rescue and takes her to the Brave Asagi airship. However, Amethio and his crew continue their pursuit of Liko's pendant. A fierce battle ensues, resulting in Nyahoja being taken away. Determined to rescue her Pokemon, Liko confronts the challenges that lie ahead.

"As Long as I'm With Nyahoja, I'm Sure"

Following Nyahoja's disappearance, Friede and the crew trace the Explorers to a port town, where they join forces with Liko to retrieve Nyahoja. Confronted by Amethio and his Pokemon, the group engages in an intense battle. Liko's quick thinking and strategic commands allow for a narrow escape, and they set sail for Paldea, Liko's hometown.

"A Washed-Ashore Treasure"

During their stop at Roy's island, the Brave Asagi requires repairs. Roy befriends Hogator, a Pokemon who strays from the group and leads Liko and Nyahoja into trouble. Together with Roy, they face challenges posed by wild Pokemon and learn valuable lessons about trust and friendship.

"I Found You, Hogator"

Reluctant to leave Hogator behind, Roy sneaks aboard the Brave Asagi to become its partner. The crew allows Roy to stay for a night, but he wakes up to find Hogator missing. Roy sets out to find Hogator, encountering the Explorers and discovering their pursuit of the Rising Volteccers. With the help of local bug Pokemon, Roy and the crew defend the ship and their newfound bond.

Exploring the World

As Liko and Roy's journey progresses, they encounter various characters, both allies, and adversaries, who shape their growth as trainers and individuals. With each episode, the series deepens the lore of the Pokemon world and unveils new regions and Pokemon species, captivating audiences with its richness.
