Gigantamax Lapras is a Water- and Ice-type pocket monster in Pokemon GO that can be obtained by beating Power Spot Bosses in Max Battles. That said, one will have to wait for the mobile game's upcoming season to go live to do so. The Max Out (Season 20) will conclude on December 3, 2024, and with this, a new season called Dual Destiny should begin.
During this period, players will witness the debut of Pokemon GO Gigantamax Lapras, Dynamax Machop, and Dynamax Krabby via Max Battles. Here’s what we know regarding the addition of Gigantamax Lapras to the game.

Pokemon GO Dual Destiny will begin on December 3, 2024, at 10 am and conclude on March 4, 2024, at 10 am local time. Gigantamax Lapras will debut during the run of this season. Specifically, you will be able to join its 6-star Max Battles on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 2 pm to 5 pm local time.
As soon as the Gigantamax Lapras Max Battle Day begins, trainers will be able to get a new item called Max Mushrooms. This item can temporarily amplify (2x) the damage of Fast Attacks, Charged Attacks, and Max Moves used in Max Battles.
There will be a timer set for the Pokemon GO Max Mushroom's effect to work. When this timer runs out, your attacks will deal the same damage they did without the use of this item. You can utilize multiple Max Mushrooms to increase the time duration of their effects, but doing this will not multiply the damage output.
That said, the two other Max Pokemon that will also emerge for the first time in Max Battles during Dual Destiny are Dynamax Machomp and Dynamax Crabby, along with their shiny variations.
