After acquiring the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1995, several of Glazer’s tenants staying at his numerous trailer parks filed a lawsuit on him, accusing him and his company First Allied Corporation for illegally charging more money for pets and each resident other than the first two residents of a household. Tenants were forced to pay an extra of $5-per-month for pets and $3-per-month for the latter. The residents demanded $100-million in punitive damages.

Eventually, Glazer did drop the extra fees, and one tenant even went onto to get a reasonable amount of refund.

"People think that if they sue you, you'll pay them some money in order to avoid the aggravation," said his lawyer, Nusbaum, who represented him in the case.
