On August 30, 2021, it was declared that Buchanan was one of a few competitors endorsed to the WWE's Performance Center. He first appeared in the ring on the September 14 episode of NXT and collaborated with Josh Briggs, who was a rising star, in a label match against Imperium, the team of Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel. On the October 5 episode of NXT Jensen cooperated with Josh Briggs in a Fatal Four Way Elimination match for the NXT Tag Team Title. The match was held by MSK (Wes Lee and Nash Carter).

Jensen made his 205 Live presentation on the October 15 episode of 205 Live. He again appeared as a team alongside Josh Briggs in overcoming Taylor Garland and Keagan Scott. On the January 18, 2022, episode of NXT, Jensen and Briggs were a rival in the primary round of the 2022 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. They were eliminated from the tournament by The Creed Brothers (Julius Creed and Brutus Creed).
