Rhea Ripley’s Current Finisher
The 27-year-old grappler currently relies on the Riptide as her finisher. The Riptide, also known as the Pumphandle Powerbomb, is a distinctive finishing maneuver that she has been using since the beginning of her wrestling career. Ripley executes this move by standing behind her opponent, putting one arm between the opponent's legs while hooking the other arm. With power and precision, she hoists the opponent over her shoulder and slams the opponent forcefully onto the mat. She usually finishes with a front power slam but sometimes switches to a sidewalk slam for greater impact.
The former Women's World Champion also uses a different adaptation of the cloverleaf submission known as the Prison Lock or Inverted Cloverleaf. Unlike the traditional cloverleaf, where the attacking wrestler faces away from the opponent, Ripley performs this maneuver by facing in the same direction as her opponent while flipping them over. She then squats and leans forward, increasing the pressure on the opponent's legs, spine, and abdomen. This move is also referred to as the Gorilla Clutch in the wrestling world.
Rhea Ripley’s Trademark Moves
Rhea Ripley dominates her opponents in the ring with a variety of signature maneuvers. Beyond her finishers, she often executes moves like the Big Boot, Chinbreaker, Delayed Vertical Suplex, Hesitation Dropkick, Missile Dropkick, Northern Lights Suplex, Pop Up Toss, and Bennett Bomb.
