source: Instagram

Dane Willard Boedigheimer, better known by his stage name DaneBoe (born September 28, 1978), is an American director, Internet personality, singer, and actor. The web series The Annoying Orange and its spin-off television series The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange were both created by him, and he also provided the voice of the title character in both productions.

American live-action/animated comedy web series The Annoying Orange was created by Dane Boedigheimer (known online as DaneBoe). The show centres around an anthropomorphic orange who irritates other fruits, vegetables, and objects by making crude jokes and puns until they die.

Additionally, with a dash of off-colour humour, surrealism, and gross-out humour, the show satirizes and parodies pop culture, including television shows and commercials, anime series, movies, music, celebrities, politicians, fairy tales, video games, and internet culture.

Career

After graduating from college, Boedigheimer, his girlfriend, and Grove, his college buddy, relocated to Bakersfield, California. The following year, on Grove's advice, they moved to Los Angeles, where they both worked as production assistants for MTV's Pimp My Ride from October 2004 to December 2005, with Dane earning $700 per week. But the 60 and 80-hour workweeks would leave him with little time to make movies at home. Dane decided he didn't want to pursue a career in television after finishing his work on the show.

Boedigheimer established Gagfilms on Valentine's Day 2005, and the business gradually gathered a core of followers. He opened two YouTube channels named Daneboe and Gagfilms in 2006. The same year he started working as a freelance filmmaker and started creating several video series.

Before The Annoying Orange, Boedigheimer produced a number of talking food videos for his YouTube channel and other websites, such as JibJab. He claimed that the concept for The Annoying Orange was a mash-up of his previous special effects work, puns, and talking food videos.

When he began animating the video, he reasoned that it would be simpler to add features to an orange than an apple and make it more noticeable than the original title of the video, The Annoying Apple. Additionally, at first, it was intended to be the sole Annoying Orange video on YouTube. However, as more videos were requested by viewers as the video gained popularity, Boedigheimer ultimately decided to turn the video into a full-time series after the fourth episode.

On January 31, 2010, he launched a channel called "realannoyingorange" for The Annoying Orange in response to the popularity of the show.

Along with his friends, Boedigheimer produced other shows in addition to The Annoying Orange for his YouTube channel, including Thunder McWylde. A retired street fighter named Thunder McWylde stars in the animated series, which debuted on October 10, 2013, but he is too powerful for his own good.

He co-created The Misfortune of Being Ned, a cartoon series on The Annoying Orange YouTube channel, with Rob Jennings.

Annoying Orange also has a gaming channel. This channel is the second for the Annoying Orange series. On the channel, the plethora of characters of the series plays various games.

“Midget Apple Let’s Play HAPPY WHEELS!!!” is the oldest video on the Annoying Orange Gaming channel. In the video, the midget apple plays Happy Wheels.

FAQs

Q. Why did Dane Boedigheimer get a lawsuit?

A. H2M later filed a lawsuit against Boedigheimer and Grove in May 2013 for allegedly plagiarising the character.
