Scarce

John Scarce, formerly known online as GoScarce, is an American YouTube news reporter who covers news and drama on the platform. He once had the most popular news reporting YouTube channel, with over 3 million subscribers. Due to lapses in activity, DramaAlert overtook his channel, making Scarce the second-largest news reporting channel on YouTube. His channel has begun to expand once more since his return.

John launched his channel in early 2012 and became well-known for his trickshot videos in the Call of Duty community. However, in the middle of 2013, he started producing news commentaries and gained a sizable following. Scarce quickly gained popularity after receiving a shout-out from GradeAUnderA at the beginning of 2016 as a result of the RSGloryAndGold controversy.

Career

John opened his channel in early 2012 (although his 1 million subscribers special dates his first video around December 2011), making Call of Duty Gameplay videos.

"MW2 Commentary: 2 Sick Clips! (AMAZING)" is the oldest available video on John's channel. In the video, John provides commentary over various clips of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Scarce got off to a great start because by the time he uploaded his second video, he had 100 subscribers, and by the time his third video came out, he had 500. 2013 saw the release of his first news clip, "(IRL) SB Apparel Site & Former SoaR Ollie Tries to Hack SoaR – SB Scarce".

He continued making those videos after seeing an increase in views compared to his usual daily attention. He reached over 3 million subscribers during one of the many YouTube subscriber bugs in early 2017 before falling to 2.8 million after the fix.

In 2016, John covered a number of noteworthy YouTube events, including the Christina Grimmie murder and the TmarTn and Syndicate scandal. He started making facecam videos in September 2016, but he soon stopped doing them while he was setting up a new studio. He eventually came back, but it took a couple of months.

Despite being rivals, John and Keemstar worked together to encourage advertisers to return to the site in late March 2017, following the YouTube ad crisis of the year that had started that month. They thanked Coca-Cola for not pulling their ads, not realizing that they had done so before they made the video. John claimed that he took a break from YouTube because he was exhausted from getting ready for college when he came back on July 19, 2017.

Net Worth

According to Net Worth Spot, Scarce is worth $1.5 million as of July 2022. The channel's numerous videos receive an estimated 250,000 views per day, which should result in earnings of about $2,000 per day (or $730,000 annually) just from the ads that play on the videos.

Personal Life

John Scarce was born in New York on July 21, 1997. Since he prefers to keep his personal life private, little is known about his parents or sister. He lost his father on July 4, 2018. He used to have a pet cat and is single.

He stirred up controversy in September and October 2016 with double uploads; some people thought he was doing it for gain. Scarce stopped uploading files twice, which put an end to the accusations.
