Saraya (original name: Saraya Jade Bevis) is a British-born professional wrestler who is currently performing on AEW. In 2005 Saraya made her wrestling debut in the World Association of Wrestling at the age of 13. She signed with WWE in 2011 and started wrestling in Florida Championship Wrestling. She gained popularity while working with the WWE as Paige. She was a two-time winner of the WWE Divas Title and the youngest ever to win the title at the age of 21 years 233 days. She was also the inaugural NXT Women's Champion and the only person ever to hold both titles at the same time. She also won NXT Women's Championship Tournament (2013), and the WWE Year-End Award (one time) as a General Manager of the Year with the organization. Due to a vicious neck injury she retired from ring action at the age of 25 in 2018 but continued with WWE as a contributor to WWE-related programs. After her contract expired in 2022 she signed with AEW in the same year. Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) ranked her in the top position in 2014 and in second position in 2015 among the top 50 female wrestlers. Rolling Stone acknowledged Saraya as the Diva of the Year in 2014.

Saraya’s Age

Saraya was born on 17 August 1992 in Norwich, England, and is 30 years old as of now. Patrick Bevis and Julia Hamer-Bevis are her parents. Zak Bevis and Roy Bevis are Saraya's older brothers. She also had a younger brother who died when Saraya was 13 years old. All of her family members are associated with wrestling and runs the World Association of Wrestling. Her mother is the owner of the female wrestling promotion Bellatrix Female Warriors in Norwich.

Life before AEW

Saraya spent her school days at The Hewett School which is based in her local town Norwich. As a child she wanted to make her career as a Zoologist and was afraid of wrestling due to injury. But she occasionally started fighting at the age of 10 with her brothers and worked as a bartender and bouncer at the family pub. From 2005 to 2011 she was active in European independent circuits in countries like Denmark, Ireland, Belgium, Turkey, Scotland, Norway, Germany, France, and Wales where she won multiple titles. She won titles including the German Stampede Wrestling (GSW) Ladies Championship, Herts & Essex Wrestling (HEW) Women's Championship, and Swiss Championship Wrestling (SCW) Ladies Championship across all of her independent tenure. Before making it to the WWE in 2011 Saraya also worked for Shimmer Women Athletes in the same year.

Saraya signed with WWE in 2011 while failing in her first attempt in the previous year. She was deployed to Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) after she signed with the industry. She participated in a tournament for NXT Women's Championship and beat opponents like Tamina Snuka, Alicia Fox, and Emma to mark her inaugural NXT Women's title. Saraya made her main roster debut with WWE in 2014. She accepted the challenge of AJ Lee for the Divas Title and defeated her successfully. She became the first woman to win a title on debut at just 21 years of age. She was ordered to leave her NXT title after this title win by the WWE. She lost her Divas Title to AJ Lee even after initially being reluctant to face the opponent. She started feuding with AJ Lee and beat her again at SummerSlam 2014 to regain her title. She faced a neck injury and was suspended by WWE for violating norms. She made her come back the next day after retirement on SmackDown as a General Manager and was appointed to that designation by Vince McMahon and his son Shane McMahon. She went on to manage The Kabuki Warriors. She was placed in the 17th position among the top 50 Greatest Women Superstars of all time by the WWE in 2021. She made her departure from the WWE the next year and officially announced the news via her Twitter account.
