George Herman Ruth Jr. (Babe Ruth) is a legendary baseball player who played for teams such as the Boston Red Sox from 1914 to 1919, the New York Yankees from 1920 to 1934, and the Boston Braves in 1935. He hailed from Baltimore, Maryland, and attended Saint Mary's High School. Ruth made his MLB debut on July 11, 1914, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936. Babe Ruth joined the Yankees in 1920, transitioning from being a pitcher to an outfielder. In 1921, he broke Roger Connor's all-time home run mark, hitting 59 home runs.

Ruth was named to the All-Star team twice in 1933 and 1934 and was a seven-time World Series winner in 1915, 1916, 1918, 1923, 1927, 1928, and 1932. In 1923, he was awarded the American League MVP Award, and that was followed up by the AL batting champion honor in 1924. Ruth led the AL in home runs twelve times from 1918 to 1921, 1923, 1924, and 1926–1931, in RBIs six times, and led the league with the most ERA in 1916. As a tribute, Babe Ruth's jersey No. 3 was retired by the Yankees, and he was elected to the MLB All-Century and All-Time Teams.
