Robert Paul Melvin, nicknamed “Bomel” is a former MLB catcher and former manager for the San Diego Padres. He started his career in the MLB by playing for the Detroit Tigers. However, he has also represented the San Francisco Giants, Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Royals, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox during his playi.
