Jesse Winker is a professional baseball player who plays for the New York Mets in Major League Baseball (MLB). Winker hails from Buffalo, New York, and attended Olympia High School in Orlando, Florida. After high school, he attended the University of Florida and played for the Florida Gators. In the 2012 MLB Draft, Winker was picked by the Cincinnati Reds in the first round with the 49th overall pick. He played in the Minor Leagues for the Reds from 2012 to 2017.
On February 12, 2024, Winker agreed to a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals. He played 101 games for the Nationals after being added to the major league roster on March 24. On July 28, 2024, Winker was traded from the Washington Nationals to the New York Mets. He hit his first walk-off home run as a Met on August 21 against the Orioles. Against Aaron Nola in the NLDS, Winker hit his first home run of the postseason. He re-signed with the Mets in January 2025 on a one-year contract worth $8 million.
