Countering the Tonfa in Warzone can be a challenging task. The melee weapon is often deemed overpowered by players and despite the recent nerfs, its popularity has not taken a hit as the community expected it to. This is particularly true for the Resurgence map of Rebirth Island, where players mostly tend to engage in close-quarter combat and this is where the melee weapon can cause a stir.

That said, there are a couple of ways one can counter the melee weapon. Hence, in this guide, we'll take a closer look at the three best ways to counter the Tonfa in Warzone.

Here are the three best ways you can counter the Tonfa in Warzone:

Using the Soulrender

Fighting fire with fire is the ideal way to go. If you see your enemy running at you with the melee weapon, your best bet to counter it in a melee fight situation is the Soulrender sword. This is the most effective way of dealing with the Tonfa+Riot Shield combo.

For those who are not familiar with the Soulrender, it is a melee weapon that can even knock out enemies through a Riot Shield. This makes Soulrender the perfect weapon to counter the Tonfa and it is highly recommended to have one equipped in your loadout, especially if you are playing on Rebirth Island.

Have your armor plates equipped

It is often seen that players jump on their enemies as soon as they lay their eyes on them. While outright aggressive plays can be effective against firearms, it isn't against the Tonfa.

Tonfa, after the recent nerf, now requires four hits with the weapon to take down a fully armored player, which was only three before the nerf. Hence, make sure you have all three armor plates equipped before you go against a player with this melee. This will increase the time it takes for them to eliminate you, thus giving you additional time to take them out with your firearm.

In the battle royale shooter, most players prefer fighting only with their weapons. But that isn't the most ideal way to play the game. You must take advantage of all the equipment that is available at your disposal. Be it the Breacher Drone or the Stun Grenades, make sure to use them properly and not rely only on your gun to get the job done.

For instance, if you use Stun Grenades, you can slow down your target, giving you the time and the opportunity to hit them where it hurts. Hence, it is highly advised to not just go guns out blazing. Instead, take your time, think of the best route to your enemy, and use your equipment to flip the advantage to your side.
