Dabo Swinney, born on November 20, 1969, in Birmingham, Alabama, is synonymous with football excellence. He spent four years as the wide receivers and tight ends coach for four years. In 2003, he decided to join Clemson when he was offered the position of wide receivers coach. Swinney had a reputation for being one of the top recruiters in the nation.

Dabo Swinney's head coaching journey began in 2009 after he spent the 2008 season as an interim head coach. In his first season as the head coach, Swinney led the Tigers to the ACC Atlantic Division title and was named ACC Coach of the Year. Over the years, Swinney has led Clemson to two National Championships and nine conference titles. Entering his 17th season as Clemson's head coach, Swinney is the program’s all-time winningest coach with a 180–46 record.
