The first of AB de Villiers' kids already found playmates in his father’s teammates’ kids when he was just a couple of months old. It was more like a playdate for the fathers and a day off for their wives, as AB took to his social media to upload this picture with the caption “The ladies are having fun back home!”

Amidst his busy schedule, the cricketer made sure to spend the first Christmas with his newborn together as a family.

As a first-time dad, AB has always proven to be pretty hands-on with his daddy duties. Abraham also accompanied his father to India for IPL 2016 when he was a little under a year old. He has been a regular spectator of the IPL matches ever since, and currently is one of the biggest fans of RCB skipper Virat Kohli. In an Instagram live chat with Kohli, AB revealed how fond his sons are of the Indian cricketer and how they get excited every time his name is mentioned.

John Richard de Villiers

On a Monday morning of August 2017, Danielle gave birth to their second son, John Richard de Villiers, in Pretoria.

Before his birth, AB de Villiers had shared how he wanted to name his second-born ‘Taj’ after the monument in India where he had made his marriage proposal to his wife. The Proteas player has never shied away from sharing his love for the country. His bond with the place grew even stronger ever since he was picked by the RCB franchise.

In November 2020, John lost his position as the youngest person in the Villiers household to his little sister, when the cricketer and his wife brought home their newest addition — a cute little angel called Yente de Villiers. AB was in UAE for IPL 2020 until the first week of November as RCB crashed out in the eliminator. He then sprinted back home to be with his family post the tournament.
