Sam Curran’s brother: Tom Curran
Tom Curran is a cricketer who represents England in One-Day Internationals and Test matches. He bats right-handed and is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who plays for Surrey County Cricket Club in English domestic cricket. He is one of the three sons of ex-Zimbabwe international cricketer Kevin Curran, and the brother of both Surrey all-rounder Sam Curran and Northamptonshire batsman Ben Curran.
Born in Cape Town, Tom attended Springvale House, a preparatory school in Zimbabwe before moving on to the reputable St George’s College in Harare, Zimbabwe. His merit in cricket enabled him to move onto Hilton College and eventually Wellington College in England.
Initially, he played for KwaZulu-Natal Inland at the U-15, U-17, and U-19 levels. It was ex-Surrey captain Ian Greig who saw his flair in school cricket, and Surrey invited Sam Curran’s brother, Tom to play for the second XI in 2012. Two years later, he made his first-class debut.
Tom Curran has also played for the Kolkata Knight Riders, the Rajasthan Royals, and the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well as the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League (BBL).
