The fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to begin from the 26th March, 2022. Fans all over are excited for one of the most awaited cricket tournaments of the year. Let's take a look at the head to head statistics of CSK and RCB.
Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore are two super giants of the Indian Premier League. The clash between these two teams have always attracted a lot of attention from fans, ever since the inaugural edition of IPL in 2008. A match between these two teams is more than just a game of cricket. It is a rivalry so big that the match between RCB and CSK is also known as Kaveri or the Cauvery Derby, or the South Indian Derby or Namma Derby and sometimes also the El Classico of IPL. As of the 15th edition of IPL held in 2022, these two teams have faced each other for a total of 30 times. Apart from IPL, CSK and RCB have faced one another in the Champions League T20.
You can now check the updated IPL points table and the latest IPL news here.
In their first encounter on 28 April 2008, CSK won by 13 runs at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. Their last encounter yielded a different result- on 04 May 2022, RCB won by 13 Runs at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.
If we take an overview of the statistics of the clash between these two teams, it is beyond any doubt that CSK emerges on the top by a huge margin. Out of the 31 encounters so far CSK has won 20, while RCB have managed to win only 10 and one remained without any result.
