Michael Bracewell registered the second-highest individual score by a New Zealand batter against India in the same match. He was on course to chase the target set by India in the second innings by scoring a mammoth 140 off just 78 deliveries at a humongous strike rate of 179.48. Bracewell missed the chance to create history by a whisker, as he was eventually dismissed by Shardul Thakur.

Stand-in skipper and vice-captain of New Zealand Tom Latham holds the record for the highest individual score by a New Zealand batter in ODIs involving India and New Zealand. He scored an unbeaten 145 in 104 balls at a strike rate of 139.42 on November 25, 2022, in Eden Park, Auckland, as per ESPN Cricinfo.
