IPL 2017 Fantasy Tips (updated): KXIP vs DD and SRH vs KKR

Chris Morris to captain the side

Transfers made – 2; Transfers remaining – 23

Suresh Raina out – Sanju Samson in

Yuzvendra Chahal out – Kagiso Rabada in

(uncapped) Nitish Rana out – Shreyas Iyer in

Uncapped preference order: 1. Shreyas Iyer 2. Shahbaz Nadeem 3. Manan Vohra 4. KC Cariappa 5. T Natarajan

Captain – Chris Morris

It is not yet clear whether Hashim Amla is fit to play, but Kings XI Punjab will surely be looking at bringing in Darren Sammy or Matt Henry in place of Eoin Morgan in the team. For Delhi Daredevils, Pat Cummins might lose his place to Sam Billings, as they continue to search for answers to beef up their batting department.

Since Kings XI take a 6-game break after this match, I have decided against bringing any of their capped players into my team. With none of their bowlers doing well, only their batsmen look value, and I can depend on the Daredevils bowling unit to sort them out. If Cummins holds on to his place, it really shouldn’t be an issue.

From the Daredevils, Sanju Samson is starting to show some consistency, so I have decided to bring him in. The 22-year-old can capitalise on the weak bowling attack of the Punjab side today; in their last encounter, he failed to read KC Cariappa’s other one, holing out at long-off. The off-spinner could again be the biggest, and possibly the only, threat to him.

With Chris Morris already in my team, the only other player who interests me is Kagiso Rabada. The South African pacer has been exceptional in the couple of matches he has played so far, and with my team combination and future plans allowing me to carry him around for at least a couple more matches, there is absolutely no reason for me to not have him in my team.

As far as uncapped options are concerned, Shreyas Iyer will be facing a much easier bowling attack than Manan Vohra, which makes him the better option. If your combination doesn’t permit bringing in a batsman, KC Cariappa, Shahbaz Nadeem, and T Natarajan, who should come back in if he is fit, aren’t bad options either. Nadeem, in particular, if he finds a place, could come in handy for a couple of wickets.

Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kolkata Knight Riders

Chris Morris out – Nathan Coulter-Nile in

Shreyas Iyer out – Siddarth Kaul in

Captain – David Warner

Guru’s team for SRH vs KKR

With David Warner, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav already in my side, the other players who are worth considering for this match are Gautam Gambhir, Robin Uthappa, Kane Williamson, Rashid Khan and Nathan Coulter-Nile.

As said in the previous article, Warner being aggressive with Rashid isn’t really helping his fantasy returns. Knight Riders play spin well, too, so leaving him out shouldn't be much of an issue. Coulter-Nile, on the other hand, is becoming a minimum guarantee, courtesy of bowling at the death, and the Knight Riders shouldn't be resting him twice in a span of four games - enough to get him in.

Of the three batting options in the list, Williamson would find it difficult to deal with the relentless quality of the Kolkata bowling unit, especially when coming at one down. Between Gambhir and Uthappa, the latter has been causing a lot more damage and keeps wickets too. Should he survive Rashid, he should be amongst the runs.

The move to open with Sunil Narine has failed against all the quality bowling units so far, so expect him to contribute only with the ball today, which is not something good enough to get him in. The last time I tried Manish Pandey, it cost me heavily, so I am not willing to take the risk again.

Shikhar Dhawan will be facing a much better bowling attack, so the chances of him repeating the Kings XI performance doesn't look all that great. The same applies to Yuvraj Singh, too. Moises Henriques’ demotion to No.5 has completely nullified his form factor.
