Royal Challengers Bangalore could bring either Tim Southee or Chris Woakes, or even both of them, into their team today after the appalling death bowling display the last match. I just don’t see Virat Kohli going into another match with Corey Anderson as his death bowler again.

Anyway, whatever they do with their bowling combination, it doesn’t really matter because I am not getting any of them into my team. It is their batting that gets you the returns, and with the Bangalore-based franchise playing twice in three matches, there is no reason to leave Kohli or AB de Villiers out of your team.

Quinton de Kock has looked good all through the tournament, but with so many high-profile matches in the coming week, I don’t want to go on an RCB overdose again. From Kolkata Knight Riders, I already have Robin Uthappa, and with Nitish Rana getting in as the uncapped pick for the day, Andre Russell is the only other player who interests me.

It isn’t a straightforward pick, as Kohli and De Villiers can completely negate his bowling threat, so whatever points he scores, it has to come from his batting (the same is the case with Sunil Narine as well). If you can carry him to his next match, bring him in. I can’t, and therefore I keep him out.
