Mumbai Indians needed a win against KKR in Eden Gardens to get into the top 4 of the table. After winning the toss, Dinesh Karthik asked the visitors to bat first.

Mumbai Indians got a good start as Suryakumar Yadav and Evin Lewis put together 46 runs. But, both the openers departed in quick succession and MI were 62/2 after 9 overs.

Then entered the young lad from Jharkhand, Ishan Kishan who attacked the KKR bowlers right from the start. Due to his onslaught, MI went from 62/2 in 9 overs to 144/3 in 14.4 overs, when he departed with a score of 62 from just 2 balls.

His partnership of 82 runs from 34 balls provided the impetus to MI's innings to score big.

After Kishan got out, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya tried playing shots but, got out soon after clearing the ropes a few times. The final flourish to Mumbai Indians was provided by Ben Cutting who scored a 9-ball 24 before getting out off the penultimate delivery.

Krunal Pandya cleared the ropes off the last ball and Mumbai Indians ended the innings with 210 runs from 20 overs.
