Fifth-placed Mumbai Indians take on the third-placed Kings XI Punjab in match 24 of IPL 2019. Mumbai Indians beat the 2018 runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad in their previous fixture and Kings XI Punjab also piled on the misery on SRH with a six-wicket win.

KL Rahul has been in good form for KXIP and Ashwin has proved more than useful with the ball. On the other hand, Alzarri Joseph's record 6/12 reignited Mumbai's hopes after a mediocre start. Also, Mumbai Indians have a major injury scare with Rohit Sharma sustaining a hamstring injury during training.

If MI bats first

With Rohit Sharma's availability uncertain, Mumbai Indians might be forced to make a change for this game. Pollard's return to form will be a huge relief for Mumbai Indians. With Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, and Pandya brothers in the lineup, expect Mumbai to light up the Wankhede stadium.

If they bat first, Mumbai Indians have enough firepower to destroy KXIP's bowling attack. Expect them to post a score of around 180 on a good Wankhede strip.

If KXIP bats first

After a blistering start, Chris Gayle had a couple of poor outings. KL Rahul led them from the front and Mayank Agarwal too was impressive. With Sarfaraz Khan, David Miller, and Mandeep Singh in their batting arsenal, KXIP will not make it easy for Mumbai bowlers.

MI bowlers did a great job against SRH and KXIP might have to contend with a score of around 160 if the 'big Jamaican' fails to fire.

Who will win?

After a thumping win over SRH, MI will go into the game as clear favourites. Though KXIP have won four of their six games this season, they depend on a few individuals to deliver. Expect Mumbai Indians to prevail on Wednesday.
