The twelfth installment of the Indian Premier League is all set to begin from the 23rd of March, 2019. Fans all over are excited for one of the most awaited cricket tournaments of the year. Let's take a look at the head to head statistics of Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab.
IPL is 11 seasons old now. So far, Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians have faced each other for a total of 22 times. However statistics suggest that neither of the two have been able to dominate the other over the years. Out of the 22 matches so far Punjab has won 10 games, while Mumbai has been slightly better than the Kings and managed to win 12 encounters. None of the matches have ended in no result. Their statistics stands testimony to how much equally balanced these two teams are.

On their first ever encounter on 25th of April 2008, Punjab defeated Mumbai Indians by 66 runs at Mohali. While on their last encounter the Mumbai Indians came out on the top defeating Kings XI Punjab by 2 wickets at Mumbai.
It is going to be very interesting this year to see how these two teams battle each other. Punjab who has an entirely new roster will definitely try and come out on the top while Mumbai Indians, which have been one of the most successful teams in IPL history will try and reassert their authority after a rather disappointing last season.
The Mumbai Indians would be captained by Rohit Sharma again this season, who is the Indian Cricket team vice captain for the limited overs format. Ravichandran Ashwin would continue with the captaincy of Kings XI Punjab this year.
