Ashwin has a tally of 100 wickets in all IPL

Primarily an off-break bowler, Ashwin is known for his canny variations with the ball, both old and new. He played just two matches in the 2009 season, but was Dhoni’s go-to man for Chennai Super Kings the next year onwards, opening the bowling and stemming the run-flow in the Powerplays and picking up wickets in the process. Since 2010, he has picked up at least 10 wickets in every season, and has a 100 wickets overall, at a miserly economy of 6.55.Due to his effectiveness with the new ball, he was picked up from the national side as well, and quickly became the primary spinner in all three formats.
