Anil Kumble led his home team, Royal Challengers Bangalore to the finals in the next season before retiring from the IPL in 2010. ‘Jumbo’ was a street-smart bowler who used to generate extra bounce off the surface with his awkward over the arm action.

The former Indian Test captain was one of the first few spinners who started to bowl in the powerplays during the IPL. He outsmarted various talented batsmen with his accurate and precise bowling and made sure to contain runs if he couldn’t get any wickets.

Kumble has played 42 matches in his IPL career all with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He ended up with 45 wickets at an astonishing economy rate of 6.57.
