In the second match of the season on April 19th, 2008, the Kings XI Punjab hosted the Chennai Super Kings. CSK, after winning the toss, lost the openers early. Michael Hussey who batted at number 3 scored an excellent 116 off just 54 balls with 8 fours and 9 sixes.

The late cameos from Suresh Raina and Subramaniam Badrinath boosted the score to a massive 240.
