The UP Warriorz Women once again failed to clinch their maiden WPL title this time around. The Deepti Sharma-led squad consisted of tried-and-tested match-winners like Grace Harris, Sophie Ecclestone, Chamari Athapaththu, and Alana King. However, they finished at the last position of the points table at the end of the season.
The UP Warriorz Women managed just three victories in eight matches and had to contend with the wooden spoon, their worst finish in the three-year history of the tournament's history. The team missed the leadership and guidance of regular skipper and Australian wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy, who was ruled out of the tournament due to injury.
UP Warriorz women's schedule for WPL 2025
The UP Warriorz Women kickstarted their campaign against the Gujarat Giants Women on February 16 at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. Later on, they locked horns with the Delhi Capitals Women in consecutive encounters in Vadodara and at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on February 19 and 22 respectively.
Their next couple of games were held in Bengaluru against defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore Women and inaugural winners Mumbai Indians Women on February 24 and 26 respectively. They played their last three round-robin matches at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. They faced the Gujarat Giants Women, the Mumbai Indians Women, and the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women on March 3, 6, and 8 respectively, as per WPL's official website.
