British golf professional and YouTuber Rick Shiels is most recognized for running the Rick Shiels Golf YouTube channel. After topping 561,500 subscribers, his channel grew to the biggest golf channel on YouTube in June 2019. He has more than 2.89 million subscribers as of October 2024. According to Golf Monthly, Shiels attended Myerscough College, where he obtained a diploma in golf studies. He worked at the Mere Golf and Country Club in Cheshire after becoming a professional. After that, he was employed at Trafford Golf Centre, where most of the videos for his YouTube channel were shot.

Shiels has collaborations with other major companies, including Mastercard, Nike, and Garmin. After being sponsored by Nike since 2017, Shiels announced a split with the company in 2021. This happened after the business changed its model which, in Shiels' opinion, would harm his rapport with his audience. He has frequently appeared on Golf Monthly's list of the Top 50 golf coaches, as well as on the magazine's cover and YouTube channel. He is mainly renowned for his in-depth analyses of golf gear, including clubs and balls.
