Deiveson Figueiredo dominated the featherweight division by producing spectacular performances in the division. He arrived in the Ultimate Fighting Championship as a professional mixed martial artist with an unblemished record of 12 wins and 0 losses. Before his debut in the UFC, Figueiredo excelled as a flyweight competitor by finishing all his opponents by knockouts and submission. After entering the UFC, Deiveson Figueiredo encountered the first loss of his professional career against Jussier Formiga at UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs. Pettis in 2019 by unanimous decision. He recovered from the setback in a dominating fashion and defeated Alexandre Pantoja and Tim Elliott in his next two fights positioning himself for a shot at the vacant flyweight title at UFC Fight Night: Benavidez vs. Figueiredo against Joseph Benavidez.


The duo locked horns with each other on February 29, 2020, and Figueiredo maintained his momentum from his previous fight. He finished Benavidez in the second round but didn’t win the title due to missing the weight limit. David Figueiredo and Joseph Benavidez again met each other in a rematch at UFC Fight Night: Benavidez vs. Figueiredo 2 on July 19, 2020. Figueiredo finished Benavidez in the first round by tapping him out to a rear-naked choke and won the vacant flyweight championship. During one of his previous outings, Deiveson Figueiredo squared off against Brandon Moreno at UFC 283. Moreno defeated him by third-round TKO (doctor’s stoppage) and took the flyweight title from him.

Deiveson Figueiredo moved up to the bantamweight division from the flyweight weight class. Figueiredo after losing the flyweight title against Brandon Moreno indicated his intentions of going up the weight class to bantamweight. Figueiredo crossed paths with Rob Font at UFC Fight Night: Dariush vs. Tsarukyan on December 2, 2023, in his inaugural bantamweight showdown. He also had a rear naked choke submission win against Cody Garbrandt at UFC 300. Moreover, the Brazilian fighter is set to face Marlon Vera on August 3, 2024, at UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs. Nurmagomedov.
