Destiny 2 The Final Shape just had its most-awaited launch trailer, which will be the final form of media released before the official launch. These trailers are usually meant to promote and celebrate the launch of an expansion, as the title suggests, and hold the record of some of the most viewed videos in history. Although some of those videos have been taken down officially due to licensing issues.

The recent launch trailer for The Final Shape featured everything a player can expect from the expansion, including the Prismatic subclass, prominent characters, new locations, possible new Strikes, and a lot more. The entire video was 2 minutes and 21 seconds long.

Since the launch trailer was uploaded on Destiny 2's official YouTube channel, players can go ahead and watch the entire thing. Here is the video anyway for the reader's convenience.

As mentioned, launch trailers bring in the most views for the official channel, and the recent video will be no different. However, among the multiple CGI scenes showcased in the trailer, a few things must be addressed going into the expansion.

  • The trailer starts with the Last City, which quickly turns into a terraformed region alongside deformed NPCs. The current social hub can be expected to change.
  • Characters such as Ikora, Zavala, and the Guardian made it inside the Pale Heart of the Traveler.
  • Zavala getting manipulated by Witness to join their side.
  • Attack on the Last City by what looks to be the Vex race.
  • A possible 12-player activity cutscene teased around the 2:00 mark of the video.
  • The video ends with Ikora being severely injured, casting a Nova Bomb.

Bungie seems to have done a great job accumulating all these cutscenes in a 2-minute video, without spoiling any major plot points. Some aspects have changed from the original CGI trailer nine months earlier, whereas the recently reworked version has a significantly darker tone.
