Tennessee Titans' general manager Jon Robinson got fired by his team, which sent shockwaves around the league. One of the more popular GMs is out of his side's front office, and the rest of the league has been put on notice. Several players are likely to be on the trade block. Only time will tell whether the team's next GM would find the current Titans useful.Jon Robinson was a popular figure in Tennessee, as he and his wife Jamie did much for the community. However, business is business, and the Titans' poor form this season was always likely to yield consequences. So the domino has fallen, and a replacement is to be appointed. So, let's look at three ideal candidates who can replace Jon Robinson and be the next Tennessee Titans general manager. View this post on Instagram Instagram PostThese three executives can take over from Robinson and potentially change the franchise's fortunes.Mike VrabelWe have seen NFL head coaches appointed as general managers before, so the elevation of Mike Vrabel to the role of GM of the Titans won't be unheard of. Robinson was likely fired because he and Vrabel didn't see eye to eye, and it's pretty obvious who the boardroom backed. Mike Vrabel is a normal internal choice to take over as GM, but we strongly doubt he'll be a success story in the role.Ryan CowdenRyan Cowden is the acting general manager for the Tennessee Titans following the unceremonious firing of Robinson. Cowden is a very experienced executive who has been around the league for over two decades. His knowledge of the Titans franchise would be an asset till, at least, the end of the season. What's more, it has always been Ryan Cowden's dream to be the general manager of an NFL franchise. Under Robinson, he served as the VP of Player Personnel. Now, he's the acting GM. Cowden has applied for and been interviewed for the GM position at Washington Commanders, New York Giants, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, it remains to be seen whether the Titans will entrust him with the role for the long haul.Mike BorgonziMike Borgonzi is the assistant general manager of the Kansas City Chiefs. He has been a member of the Chiefs since 2009, acting in several roles before becoming Brett Veach’s second-in-command. Borgonzi needs no introduction around coaching circles, as he and Veach have been significant parts of building the Chiefs' dynasty. Moreover, Borgonzi has some history with current Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, with the Chiefs trading in Vrabel as far back as 2009. So if Mike Borgonzi is tired of waiting for a promotion to be the Chiefs' GM, then the job at Tennessee won't be a bad start to his GM career.
